Role Highlights:
As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will:
Deliver Holistic Therapy Services: Provide comprehensive assessments, treatment plans, and discharge planning to residents of Harrow, promoting independence and supporting smooth hospital discharges.
Collaborate Across Services: Work closely with our Integrated and Specialist Community Services, including Community Nursing, Speech and Language, Tissue Viability, Falls, and Rapid Response teams. You ll also engage with Primary Care Network colleagues, Frailty Services, and the Hospital Discharge Team to ensure seamless care.
Develop Your Leadership Skills: Gain valuable experience supervising Therapy Support Workers and students, contributing to the growth of future practitioners while enhancing your leadership capabilities.

You should be committed to delivering high-quality care, skilled in electronic patient record-keeping (training provided), and enthusiastic about making a difference in a diverse community setting.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Current Allied Health Professional (AHP) with active UK HCPC registration
Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy
Postgraduate training in a relevant field (desirable)
Experience
Essential Criteria
Experience in Elderly Care and Rehabilitation for older adults
Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary team (MDT) working
Familiarity with falls prevention practices
Experience conducting cognitive assessments (desirable)
Background in Intermediate Care and Community Rehabilitation (desirable)
Skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to make informed decisions
Ability to delegate tasks and supervise staff
Experience in supervising or teaching students
Effective time management and prioritisation skills
Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy, Care, and NHS issues
Understanding of the legal responsibilities within the profession
Competent IT skills
Key Attributes
Strong interest in rehabilitation for older persons
Membership in a Specialist Interest Group (SIG)
Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional development, maintained in a CPD portfolio
Active involvement in service delivery improvement initiatives
Full, valid UK driving license and access to a car for business use (unless exempt under the Equality Act 2010 due to disability)
