Our client, a growing nationwide accountancy practice, is looking for a Practice Manager/Senior Accountant to run its small, established office in Ilkley. They need an experienced accountant to manage a valued existing client base. The role is available full-time or part-time and hybrid.

What you’ll be doing

• Reviewing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships under FRS 102 and FRS 105
• Reviewing corporation tax computations and CT600 returns, self-assessment tax returns and partnership returns
• Reviewing VAT returns and management accounts, and making sure work meets accounting standards, tax legislation and regulatory requirements
• Meeting clients to present their year-end accounts, explain their tax position and give practical advice on profitability and business improvement
• Identifying tax planning opportunities and supporting the firm’s Head of Tax on technical matters
• Overseeing work prepared by the firm’s accounts team in India, monitoring deadlines and quality
• Managing WIP, billing, fee collection and the profitability of the client portfolio
• Maintaining engagement letters and carrying out AML and client due diligence checks
• Managing the day-to-day running of the Ilkley office

What you’ll bring

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification, or qualified by experience with a strong background in practice
• Strong, practical tax knowledge and extensive experience reviewing statutory accounts and tax returns in practice
• 8 years + accountancy experience in practice
• A calm, organised approach and excellent client relationship skills
• Confidence with Excel and cloud-based accounting software
