TeacherActive is currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work in a supportive and welcoming school in Colchester, starting as soon as possible.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with additional learning needs.

The Role:

As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.

• Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.

• Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored learning activities.

• Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

• Support pupils with behaviour management and emotional regulation.

• Encourage independence, confidence and positive relationships.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable.

• A patient, caring and resilient approach.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.

• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is beneficial but not essential.
