School Catering & Cleaning Assistants Needed – Flexible Hours Part Time NEW

Verve People is recruiting School Catering and Cleaning Assistants to support schools on a flexible, temporary basis. Whether your experience is in catering, cleaning, or both, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for part-time or flexible work around other commitments, with shifts available throughout the school term and holiday periods.

What You’ll Be Doing
Catering Duties
Assisting with food preparation and basic kitchen tasks
Serving meals to students and staff
Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
Washing up and keeping kitchen areas clean and organised
Supporting kitchen teams during busy service periods
Cleaning Duties
Cleaning classrooms, corridors, dining areas, toilets, and communal spaces
Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitising surfaces
Restocking cleaning supplies as required
Reporting any maintenance issues or damage
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the school

Hours
School catering shifts are typically between 10am and 2pm, while cleaning shifts are usually between 3pm and 6pm, with flexibility depending on the school’s requirements.

What We’re Looking For
Previous catering, cleaning, or hospitality experience is beneficial but not essential
A reliable and positive attitude
Good attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Enhanced DBS clearance is desirable, but if you don’t currently have one, we can help you obtain this
Food Hygiene, Safeguarding, KCSIE, and other education-sector compliance training may be required for some assignments, and we can support you with obtaining the relevant training
