Your new role
In this job role, your main responsibilities will include carrying out lessons for absent teachers and this will involve using the lesson plans they have left for the class and ensuring pupils remain fully engaged with the learning. By being in this role, you should be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the pupils. You will have the opportunity to work in a role that is flexible around your needs and teaching style. Working for Hays Education will enable you to work on a full-time or part-time basis to suit your commitments.
What you’ll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, hold qualified teacher status (QTS) gained in the UK. You should be enthusiastic, approachable and be able to hit the ground running. Good knowledge of the KS1 and/or KS2 curriculum is preferred however this could be a perfect role for an NQT/ECT that is looking to gain some experience working within the primary school environment.
