About The Night Support Worker Role:

• Our client, a well-established and forward-thinking charity based in Gwent, is looking for a compassionate and resilient individual to join their team as a permanent Night Support Worker.
• This role is ideal for someone looking to kick-start a career in support work with a chance to engage directly with residents through a variety of activities.

Night Support Worker – Key Responsibilities:

• Offer emotional and practical support to women and children in a safe refuge setting
• Help engage residents in evening activities like cooking, art classes, movie nights, and more
• Confidently handle crises and support individuals facing complex challenges, including substance misuse and mental health issues
• Complete needs assessments and support residents in accessing health, legal, and housing services
• Facilitate a calm, welcoming environment, even during moments of crisis
• Support the transition of residents to independent living, encouraging self-advocacy

What You’ll Need For This Night Support Worker Role:

Soft skills are key: You’ll need resilience, confidence, and the ability to stay calm under pressure

Flexibility: Comfortable working nights, weekends, and bank holidays, with the ability to sleep on-site when the project is settled (sleeping from 11pm if no support is needed)

Driver’s license: You must hold a full license and be comfortable driving residents to appointments where needed (expenses covered)
