About the Opportunity

We are seeking an ambitious individual who has a proven delivery and work-winning track record, strong client relationships and network and an ability to drive growth and ensure delivery in-line with both client and business (performance) expectations. They will have responsibility for building and maintaining strong client relationships, driving growth, while also leveraging strong project leadership.

They will be the ‘go-to person’ for Central Government, Regulation and Investors (CGR&I) transport clients for Jacobs and lead the development of client account plans, including relationships, engagement, proposition, and growth objectives.

Role Responsibilities:

• Be the ‘go-to person’ for CGR&I transport clients for Jacobs.
• Development of Jacobs Client Account Plans including client relationships and engagement plans, proposition development, and consistency with CGR&I Market/Vertical growth objectives.
• Attend and/or drive client 10:1s.
• Drives actions, and reports on these and progress back to CGR&I Sector Lead/client CDD.
• Responsible for CGR&I booking and burn performance for relevant client(s), and accountable to CDD.
• Involved in Go/No Go’s, Red and Commercial Reviews to provide consistency.
• May lead proposals or delivery or alternatively advise others from a strategic relationship perspective.
• Accountable for ensuring CSP records of all meetings and calls as relevant to the client prepared and circulated.
• Facilitate / drive call planning for client engagements.
• Align client account plans and activities to wider Jacobs, P&PS, SC strategies and plans.
• Represent Jacobs at key events and client engagement activities as relevant to the respective client.
• Develop networks with external partner organisations and facilitate collaboration on specific opportunities as needed.
• Interface with Central Sales, CGRI Operational Sales teams and P&PS “Horizontals” to assess, develop, and drive forward opportunities (at all stages of OG/MG/EG).
• Support the SC CGR&I Sector Lead, SC capability leads in understanding future capability needs for clients.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Leadership – able to set strategic direction, effectively lead others and delegate activities, and offer guidance to staff.
• Commercial acumen – able to consider commercial and value propositions including strength of client positioning/perception, pricing considerations, and market differentiation.
• Some experience of driving, authoring or as commercial lead for public sector bidding.
• Proactive, action oriented, and capable of driving forward activities and opportunities with minimal senior direction.
• Highly organised and able to manage activities given changing and evolving circumstances.
• Performance orientated approach, focussed on target metrics and finds solutions to keep performance on plan.
• Strategic thinker – understands the big picture opportunities and risks for clients and for Jacobs and able to consider implications.
• Undertaken significant work with these client organisations or with similar organisations in terms of scale, complexity, objectives.
• Ability to influence a range of internal and external stakeholders of all levels – predominantly in Jacobs and external consultancies, able to flex style for audience and able to engage Board/Senior management/C-Suite level.
• Ability to take a multidisciplinary / multi capability view, engaging with specialists but able to summarise and synthesis as needed for success.
• Broad understanding of the commercial, policy and regulatory landscape for transport in the UK and Europe.
• Interest in some or all of government affairs, public policy, regulation, and transport.
• Brings relevant client relationships or ability to engage clients directly and develop relationships as a trusted advisor / conduit to Jacobs.
• Established track record of originating and selling work and consultancy contracts (e.g. individual wins over £2m in value).
• Previous capture management/pursuit lead experience (or similar).
• Established reputation with these client organisations in a specific Jacobs capability (or future capability).
• Some or all of contract management/negotiation, project management, procurement experience (or similar).
